How Slingshot Accelerator Created 450 New Jobs in Just 3 Years Across 24 Companies
🤩🍿 I sat down for a conversation with with Magnus Øgård Meisal, the founder and Group CEO of the spectacular co-working space FOMO. The 2nd clip from our conversation on the Accelerated Learning podcast is available now, check it out! 💡 In this clip, Magnus shares the backstory to establishing the FOMO-based scale-up accelerator, Slingshot. It’s initial ambition, and how it has created 450 jobs across 24 companies in 3 years. He also tells the story of when Stanford University was replaced in favor of Slingshot as part of the exciting cooperation with Monshaat in Saudi-Arabia, a government entity for the SME sector. 🚀 By education Magnus is a civil engineer from the University of Stavanger (UiS). During his time at university, he led Start UiS, an organization that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship. While studying, he also developed the idea for MyBox, to use shipping containers for student housing. Later on, Magnus was also involved in the establishment of the co-working space Innovation Dock, in which he held a lead role for 2 years. After leaving, he founded and headed the extraordinary co-working space FOMO at Forus. FOMO has become a great success, now spanning 75 000sqm and is valued at more than 130 MUSD. 💚 At heart, Magnus is an entrepreneur who values structure, but not when it hampers innovation, and his vision remains to foster communities, create meaningful experiences and environments. Food-for-Thought
Discipline vs. Regret
Life's a tricky current. You can paddle hard against the tide, embracing the burn of discipline - the focused reps at the gym, the ruthless prioritization of your to-do list and burning the midnight oil on your passion project. It stings, sure, but it builds strength and gets you where you want to go. Or, you can drift with the easy current, indulging in the initial pleasure of instant gratification. But down the line, that current dumps you on the shores of regret - a place littered with "what ifs" and the bitter taste of wasted potential. The choice, as always, is yours, captain. But remember, smooth sailing rarely leads to undiscovered shores.

How to Understand and Manage Children’s Screen Time to Reclaim Their Future?
The topic of children’s screen time is vital because it shapes human development, especially during childhood’s vulnerable years. Digital media, with its rapid, intense flood, disrupts our brains’ slow, evolutionary design, built for small groups and gradual shifts, not dopamine-driven apps. This clash risks mental health crises, like anxiety and depression, particularly for the "Anxious Generation" born after 1995. Unchecked, it could replace a grounded, playful childhood with one tethered to virtual status, threatening our kids’ minds and society’s future.
In this article, I trace media’s evolution from newspapers to TV to smartphones focusing on how gamification and dopamine, honed by TikTok, exploit reward and status instincts, outpacing storytelling. Drawing on Jonathan Haidt’s insights, I argue this "great rewiring" of childhood demands action to reclaim real-world play and connection.
