What’s the best dating app?
Should you buy subscriptions, and what’s the best features?

🤩🍿 I sat down for a conversation with the author of the Tinder Cookbook Helge Ove Søndenaa Svendsen. The 2nd clip from this episode on the Accelerated Learning podcast is available now, check it out!

🎞️ In this clip, Helge and Joachim compare the various dating apps, their purpose, pros and cons. They discuss the bare minimum effort that people typically put in, the effort required to maintaining fruitful activity on the apps and how to focus. Helge gives his view on whether to buy subscriptions and which features are the most valuable and at which times to harness their full effect.

🔥📕 Helge has written the book "The Little, Big Tinder Cookbook - 21 Attempts at Love and Pancakes." The book is the result of a social experiment on Tinder that Helge started 10 years ago. He has been concerned with love and dating for a long time, and what dating apps have done to us and society. In the book, Helge writes painfully and honestly about love, and offers the reader hope and motivation that makes you want to continue swiping and dating. On top of that, the reader gets some delicious pancake recipes, straight from Tinder!

📝 Helge is a seasoned copywriter with a notable career at JCP PRAD in Oslo. He's known for his ability to blend traditional and digital advertising with interactive storytelling.

Food-for-Thought

Involve Yourself to Learn

This Benjamin Franklin's quote captures the essence of effective learning. Simply being told information (passive learning) often leads people to swiftly forget it.

Teaching (structured instruction) improves retention, but the most impactful learning comes from involvement (active learning). When we actively participate in the learning process, we engage with the material on a deeper level, fostering understanding and building lasting knowledge.

How can you involve yourself more in something your currently striving to learn?

Beyond Reciprocity: How Favors Shape Our Perception

Ever wondered why a simple act of kindness might make you see someone in a new light?

This article explores the Benjamin Franklin Effect, a psychological phenomenon where doing a favor for someone can transform your perception of them, even if you initially held negative views.

Named after the famed American polymath, this effect reveals how our actions can subtly influence our attitudes, often leading to unexpected bonds of empathy and understanding.

Whether you're interested in psychology, leadership or human behavior, this effect offers profound insights into how we can foster more positive connections in our daily lives.

Until next time, be well,

Joachim.
