Friends,

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

This week, I'm sharing the full podcast episode with the artist HWK aka Håkon Haug Paulsen.

Speaking of the pod, I have recently recorded a new podcast episode with Vagabjørn aka Jørn Bjørn Augestad. In 2019, at 29 years old, he became the youngest Norwegian to have visited every country in the world! He is a couch surfer, author of 2 books, speaker and off-the-beaten-path tour guide. Stay tuned for the first clips from this our conversation in my next newsletter.

I would also like to invite you to consider how not to become illiterate in the 21st Century, and how to cultivate stillness in your daily life.

Let's get into it 🤿

Food-for-Thought

🎓 How not to become illiterate in the 21st Century

Alvin Toffler's quote perfectly captures the essence of lifelong learning in our rapidly changing world. Traditional literacy, while still important, no longer guarantees success. The explosion of information and constant innovation demand a new kind of literacy: the ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn.

Learning isn't just about acquiring knowledge; it's about questioning it, adapting it, and constantly seeking new information. Unlearning becomes crucial when cherished ideas become outdated or even harmful. Relearning allows us to integrate new knowledge and adapt to changing realities.

This cycle ensures we remain relevant and capable in a world that's constantly in flux.

How to Quickly and Easily Cultivate Stillness

Stillness is not experienced when your mind feels ahead of your body. When we wake up in the morning, sometimes we experience that our mind is racing, while our body is relaxed and at rest. Thus, you don’t feel stillness.

Other times, your mind is at rest, while your body is energized and ready to go. In this case also, you don’t feel stillness. This is due to the contrast and friction between mind and body. Both should be at rest in order to experience stillness.

So, how can we cultivate stillness in these cases?

The 5-4-3-2-1 Practice is one tried and tested way to quickly and easily cultivate stillness.

Until next time, be well,

Joachim.
