Healthy, Wealthy and Wise

Friends,

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

This week, I'm sharing 2 video clips from my conversation with Brage Johansen, a serial entrepreneur, and investor who's also 20 years deep into the space sector

I would also like to invite you to consider how repetition can make falsehoods feel true by exploiting the brain’s confusion of familiarity with accuracy. Finally, learn more about how your calves act as a "2nd heart".

Let's dive into it 🪂

Finding the Next Startup, the Key 20% of Efforts & Beating the What the UN Predicts Will Be the Leading Cause of Death by 2050

🤩🍿 I had the pleasure of sitting down with Brage W. Johansen for an in-depth conversation. He's a serial entrepreneur, and investor who's also 20 years deep into the space sector, and I had heaps of questions I wanted to ask him. The 1st clip from this episode on the Accelerated Learning podcast is available now, check it out!

💡 In this 1st clip, we spoke about how Brage has picked up great ideas and promising tech. The 20% of efforts to focus on to yield 80% of results in the early phases. How Spectrum Blue came about, what they're working on and how it relates what the UN predicts will be the leading cause of death by 2050.

🌱 Brage is an engineer with a philosopher's soul, who's focused on driving the green shift. He's co-founder and former CEO of Zaptec, Heimdall Power and Desert Control. Currently, he's the co-founder and CEO of Spectrum Blue.

🗺 He's also a board member of the government's Export Strategy Council, along with a range of board seats in various companies over the years.

Shipping From the Moon Will Basically Be FREE – The Next Honeymoon Destination, Lunar Mining & the Coming Space Gold Rush

💡 What if the next trillion-dollar industries aren’t on Earth at all… but just 3 days away on the Moon?

In this clip, serial founder Brage Johansen reveals why shipping stuff from the Moon to Earth will basically be free, how zero-gravity factories could print perfect human organs, why giant data centers and unlimited solar farms are moving off-planet, and how one single asteroid (called Psyche-16) contains more metal than humanity could use for thousands of years. Oh, and yes: honeymoons on the Moon (real honeymoons) are coming sooner than you think!

🔁 Repetition Makes Falsehoods Feel True by Exploiting the Brain’s Confusion of Familiarity with Accuracy

Daniel Kahneman’s observation cuts to the heart of one of the most robust findings in cognitive psychology: the illusory truth effect. When a statement is repeated, processing it becomes cognitively easier, a phenomenon psychologists call processing fluency. The brain, lazy and efficient, interprets this ease not as “I’ve seen this before,” but as “this feels true.” Crucially, this happens even when people know the claim is dubious or when they are explicitly warned it might be false.

In controlled experiments, participants rate statements such as “The Atlantic Ocean is the largest ocean on Earth” as truer after hearing it multiple times, while the false “The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean” gains credibility with repetition despite initial correction. The effect is stronger when people are tired, distracted, or multitasking, conditions that unfortunately describe most of daily life in the digital age. What Kahneman quietly underscores is that no one is immune: intelligence, education and analytical training offer only modest protection once repetition does the heavy lifting.

The quote’s second sentence is where the moral and political weight lands. Authoritarian regimes and commercial advertisers do not stumble onto repetition by accident, they weaponize it because it's cheap, scalable and deniable. A lie told once can be debunked. A lie told a thousand times across billboards, state television, social-media memes and push notifications becomes infrastructure. The genius of the tactic is that it rarely requires overt coercion. People police themselves, mistaking the ring of familiarity for the ring of truth.

In the 20th century this required owning newspapers or broadcasting towers. Today, an algorithm that maximizes engagement will happily do the work for free, boosting the loudest and most repeated voices regardless of accuracy. Kahneman, writing as a Nobel laureate who spent his life mapping human irrationality, delivers the warning with clinical detachment: the same mental shortcut that lets us navigate a complex world, also makes us perpetually exploitable by anyone willing to pay for repetition rather than evidence.
